To Berlin, with Franz

The Central Programming Committee of the Supreme Council has arrived at an epic decision.

And it’s a bold one. For the first item in the planned programme of Sostituto Epics, we’re going big – with Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s 15 hour 31 minute adaptation of Berlin Alexanderplatz.

What you need to know now is we’ll be starting on the evening of Friday 5th February and, if all goes according to plan, we’ll be done by Sunday lunchtime on the 7th.

Let’s make Matt and Jeff proud!

So the question you need to ask yourself is ‘Do I have that kind of commitment?’. Some Sostituto regulars know that they do. They remember the coffee and the donuts and the 18 hours of Twin Peaks: The Return (2017).

The details are to be found on the screening page. And if you do have the guts to join us on the Zoom-punctuated journey, fortified perhaps by Brandenburg’s robust cuisine, and lashings of Berliner Weisse, we feel sure you won’t regret it.
